For the most part, I am a product of public schools in the United States.  The only exceptions are my early grade school years in Baldor, a private school in Havana, Cuba, and sixth through eighth grades in parochial catholic schools in the US.

I attended Forest View High School in Arlington Heights, IL and Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, IL. I graduated in 1969.

I began my college education at Harper College in Palatine, IL.  It was there I decided to major in art. I got my A.A. in 1971 and then transferred to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL.

At NIU, I went on to major in Art Education receiving my B.S. ed. in Art Education in 1973. I was determined to continue for a master’s degree and was accepted into the graduate school that fall.

I received my M.F.A. in painting in 1975.

I have also continued graduate studies in the field of education with concentrations in Bilingual Education, ESL and Multimedia.
